Next time...I think I have a 2000 at work we haven't recycled yet...Besides, I definitely wouldn't be able to upgrade the RAM...goddamn EDO RAM.....
My biggest problem with it? Blu Ray support...it's finals time, do you think I can live without my movies?

Thanks, but personally, I'll keep my p5-90 full tower.
With a 90 mhz Pentium 1, 98 Mb of RAM, and a 1.1 gb hard drive, Windows 3.1 runs like a dream. Add in the 5.25 floppy drive and Zip100 IDE drive, and it's a great legacy system.
While the listed one is nice, the price is a bit high. I got mine for free. It's seen some abuse in its former life, and is quite yellowed. You can see it lurking in the background, behind my recently acquired Sanyo stereo.
I should really get some better pictures of my collection (the leading picture isn't mine). The Gateway2000 isn't even my oldest.

Damn dude that is a sweet tower. That reminds me of looking at my first 486, a Gateway DX/33.. I skipped 386's and went to that DX33 from a bought-new Tandy 286 8mhz with the 20 add-on hard drive. about $3200 if I remember right.
Tho when the DX2/66 proc hit the market, that was the shit. Wow.

I know what you mean about first looking at these towers. The first time I saw that tower, it was love at first sight. I knew I needed to have it.
It is certainly an imposing tower. It stands ~22 inches tall. The original 486 full towers were 2" taller than mine. That was before they switched to this newer style case. For a good comparison, I have a picture of a newer Gateway desktop I have, and how vast the size difference is. It's impressive to think how far computers came in the 10 years between those two systems. I also got the newer Gateway for free.

I've used 31.5GB with Premiere, AfterEffects, a couple video converters, and a game running at once. Fun times.
